Leadership

Our goal is to continually foster the growth of our care team and residents, and to always strive to improve our Paintbrush community and the lives of the people who live and work here.

In 2019, a new leadership team was created to deliver the ultimate care experience for residents. This includes top professionals in their field, devoted to delivering the highest quality care, along with Northstar Senior Living, a highly regarded California-based management service to oversee operations. They report directly to the local Paintbrush Board of Directors and owners on day-to-day operations and resident concerns.

This tiered system allows us to ensure that Paintbrush is meeting the top standards of assisted living and memory support, and that our residents and their families continue to get the best care, hospitality and overall experience we can provide.

Jennifer Fowler

Although born in the bay area, I have lived in Fresno since I was three years old and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else but the Central Valley.

I have a daughter who was born in November 2018, a 13 year old step-daughter and a wonderful husband! Working with seniors was never my plan but as we all know life throws you curveballs and can set you on a different path.

I started in skilled nursing in 2009 and worked there for 5 ½ years. Upon transitioning to Assisted Living I found this is my true calling! I thoroughly enjoy working with seniors and love to hear all of their life experiences.

I honestly couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I am so excited to now be apart of the Paintbrush Family and for the many memories I will be able to make here with my residents and staff!

Mary Anna Davis

Born and raised in Clovis California, I have worked in the assisted living industry for over 10 years and I am a Certified Dementia Practitioner through the NCCDP. Previously I had the pleasure of working in various senior assisted living positions as a CNA, Activity Director and Move-In Coordinator, to name a few.

I wanted the full experience of what the Senior Living environment has to offer. My passion has always been working with residents benefiting from Assisted and Memory Care living environments. At times I am their voice or helping to ensure nothing is overlooked so their needs are met and they have fun celebrating life.

In my free time, I love going on outdoor adventures and spending time with my husband and two Pitbulls. I am very family-oriented, so a lot of the time my husband, my dogs and I are accompanied by my brother, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

I could not be more excited to be a part of the Paintbrush family and I look forward to the many adventures ahead of us.

Sabrina Samora

I was born and raised in Southern California but made the Central Valley my home in 2007. I have three beautiful children, two girls and one boy.

I have loved living and raising my family here. We have a blessed life which involves lots of sports and enjoying vacation time on the coast.

I have a tremendous passion for helping seniors and families and most of all, listening to the residents and their life stories.

Jennifer Vasquez
Jennifer VasquezBusiness Office Manager
Born and raised in Santa Rosa, Jennifer has accumulated more than 12 years of experience in senior care, especially assisted living.

Senior living “found her”, she says. Jennifer began her career in 2006 as a bookkeeper for a retail shop while attending college.

When she began working for a senior living community, she found that she liked what she was doing, so she just kept doing it.

As Business Office Manager she loves working with the Paintbrush staff.

When not at Paintbrush, she enjoys spending time with her adult daughter, relaxing with yoga and pilates classes, hiking, cooking and sewing.

She also has two cats, Kitty and Pence, who provide her with hours of entertainment.

Chef Funzell Thompson

I came to Fresno in 2000. My food journey started with Meals on Wheels. I enjoyed delivering nutritional hot meals to the elderly. I began my career learning the role of a dishwasher, then server and prep cook. This gave me a valuable understanding of a commercial kitchen. My first job in Fresno was working at a retirement community under the supervision of an accomplished chef who took me under his wings, trusted me, guided me and helped me to understand and see food from a deeper perspective. I then took an opportunity at a skilled nursing facility where I furthered my experience working with a great Registered Dietitian. As my journey continued, opportunities were taken at great Skilled Nursing, independent living, assisted living and memory care communities. Assisted Living food can be as great and tasteful as the most famous restaurant in town. I am a graduate of Fresno City College with a Degree in Nutritional Dietetics. I attended the Institute of Monterrey Bay Culinary where I continued to grow and learn more about food, different cultures of foods and how a great presentation can pull it all together. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and skills to whoever is willing to learn and has the same passion for food that I do. I am very grateful to be part of the Paintbrush team who shares the same ethics and values I live by. In my spare time, I enjoy going on trips with my family, playing any kind of sports, watching movies and cooking competitions with my family. I enjoy life and always try to turn a negative into a positive.

Leaureano Lo Sanchez
Leaureano Lo SanchezMemory Care Supervisor
I was born and raised in the Central Valley and have worked in the Healthcare industry for about 5 years. I’ve been with Paintbrush for 3 years as a resident assistant and Med-tech, and I’m so happy to be placed in charge of overseeing the Memory Care area. My goal is to enhance the quality of resident care through great communication. I have a special love for our elderly. I was blessed to be raised in a home where my grandparents were very involved in teaching me good values and morals; they were wonderful role models! I could not be happier to take on this new position as the Memory Care Supervisor. The thing that I am most excited about in my new role is having the opportunity to create a home for those that may not always remember where their home is. My hope is they remember the loving care and compassion that Paintbrush gives them, regardless.

On my personal time I enjoy taking road trips with my terrier mix dog and exploring the beaches.

Gino Martinez
Gino MartinezEnvironmental Services Director
Local native Gino brings his outgoing personality to Paintbrush Assisted Living and Memory Care along with 10 years’ experience as an Environmental Manager.

After earning his Liberal Arts degree from Fresno City College, Gino began his career in the hospitality industry as the Manager of Sal’s Mexican Restaurant, then Tommie’s Hamburger. For both Fresno venues, he was responsible for all food, beverages, inventory and customer service, especially stressing, “The customer comes first”.

Before coming to Paintbrush, Gino was the Facilities Manager at Fashion Fair Mall in Fresno where he managed day-to-day maintenance and housekeeping duties. He also worked as Maintenance Supervisor at Manco Abbott Resident Apartments in Fresno for two more years to ensure all standards were achieved and sustained.

Gino is a devoted father and dog lover. He enjoys his children’s laughter, good food and the laughter of friends.

Nikki Gallagher
Nikki GallagherLife Enrichment Director
I was raised here in the valley by my grandparents, whom I love very much. They taught me life lessons that have kept me motivated and goal-oriented, which I hope to pass down to my kids. My career in senior programming started 6 years ago, but I was an in-home caregiver for 8 years before that. I have a passion for helping people in general, but because of my grandparents, I understand the need to give back to our seniors.

I have a beautiful daughter that is growing into a young lady very quickly. My son is a vibrant toddler that keeps me on my feet. Both of my children are very adventurous and active. We all love playing sports and are very competitive.

I absolutely love crafting, planning parties and directing DIY projects for the residents. I’m very eager to be part of the Paintbrush team and bring my hospitality to an already great community!
